Over time, the sailcloth loses its dimensional stability due to UV radiation, creases and flapping in the wind. It becomes softer and loses its profile. UV rays make the material brittle and the colour begins to fade after about two years. A heavily faded sail only has about 50 % of its original stability. 

The high performance laminate sails combine function and design: they offer the best sail profile while looking modern. The laminate fabric stretches less than traditional Dacron. Its construction along the load direction maximizes strength, minimizes stretch, and provides a consistently reliable profile. The material’s transparency creates a sleek look, enhanced by large windows at the bottom for better all-around visibility.

Gentle Handling: Laminate fabrics are sensitive to creases and should always be stored rolled. It’s best to roll both the mainsail and jib together for optimal protection during transport.
