This foresail gives the HAPPY CAT a significant boost in weak wind conditions.

The sensation for light wind areas!

The Furling-Booster can be used in light winds instead of the jib and performs about 30% higher speeds than the standard jib. In addition, the Booster can also be sailed well at the wind.

The easy handling makes the Furling-Booster especially attractive. Instead of the forestay, a separate endless furling drum is attached to the bowsprit. The Booster can be rolled in and out easily. In the luff of the sailcloth a torsion-free rope is integrated, which also allows a good tensioning of the booster luff.

The sail cut is slightly flatter than a Gennaker in order to be able to sail a course up to approx. 55° at the apparent wind (tacking angle approx. 110° – see diagram).

For GRABNER Boats:  HAPPY CAT NEO, HAPPY CAT EVOLUTION, HAPPY CAT HURRICANE, HAPPY CAT HURRICANE-CARBON

INCLUDED IN THE PACKAGE:
1 x Booster sail 8,5 sqm (red), luff with special torsion-free rope
1 x Endless jib furler with 2 carabiners
1 x swivel
1 x belt for tensioning the endless rope
2 x ratchet blocks
2 x single blocks with swivel
1 x single block without swivel
1 x sheet line (red)
1 x halyard + carabiner (grey/blue)

RECOMMENDATIONS/INSTRUCTIONS:
HALYARD CLAMP NECESSARY:
To set the booster, a separate clamp is required on the mast for the booster halyard. HAPPY CATs starting with model year 2020 have this clamp mounted on the mast as standard.

If your HAPPY CAT does not have this clamp yet, there is a “fitting with clamp“, which can be screwed on at the bottom of the mast at the ” Gennaker fitting holes ” very easily (for EVOLUTION, HURRICANE).

If your HAPPY CAT NEO does not yet have this clamp, it is necessary to rivet a “Clamp + eyelet” onto the lowest mast section.

Luff length + furler + swivel + carabiner = 520 cm.

SAILING TIPS:
Before rolling out the Booster, the jib should be furled.
If the Booster is mounted on the catamaran and is not used during sailing (e.g. when the jib is used for sailing), we recommend stowing the Booster under the bow deck net (accessory). Otherwise if the wind is strong, the “Booster roll” in front of the jib will be annoying. This also protects the nylon material from UV radiation.

Not suitable for strong winds. The recommended range of use is 1 to 3 Beaufort. In stronger winds it is better to sail with the standard jib.

The handling is generally easier when two persons are sailing the catamaran (bowman).

NOTE ON THE DURABILITY OF SAILS:
The sail is made of thin nylon and is sensitive to UV radiation. If the sail is not used, it should therefore be packed in a sun-protected way (e.g. foredeck net). The colour may fade and the cloth may lose its stability.
